A man reports have identified as Joseph McAndrew Jr., of Holstein Road, Upper Merion, is in custody for allegedly murdering his family inside their Montgomery County home, according to reports and authorities.
McAndrew, 22, allegedly killed his family Saturday evening and was found by local police covered in blood and standing in the driveway of the house near Gulph Mills Golf Course.
He remains in custody without bail. According to an affidavit obtained by the Delaware County Times, a samurai sword and other knives were recovered at the scene. The victims reportedly died of numerous cuts and lacerations.
A criminal complaint obtained by KYW Newsradio says McAndrew allegedly described the purpose of the slayings as “extermination.”
A press conference will be held 11a.m. tomorrow morning, according to the Montgomery County DA’s Office, which would not release any details about the slayings yesterday.
