In 2024, the Rittenhouse Grill debuted a cabaret experience titled, “An Evening with Me,” produced by Randy Swartz. Modeled after the famed events at New York’s Café Carlyle, the series invites cabaret and Broadway stars to the locale to perform in front of audiences—and luckily, the activation is returning in 2025 with a star-studded line-up.
The first of numerous performances will kick off on Feb. 17, with singer Amanda McBroom. McBroom became an international star and Golden Globe winner for her song “The Rose” — which Bette Midler recorded — and has also been a regular at New York’s famed Birdland Jazz Club and Carnegie Hall.
Next up in the series will be Broadway veteran Christopher Sieber on April 7. Sieber will perform a retrospective of his work (some of which have garnered Tony Awards) including “Shrek the Musical” (Lord Farquaad), “Spamalot” (Sir Dennis Galahad) “La Cage Aux Folles” (Georges), “Chicago” (Billy Flynn), “Matilda the Musical” (Agatha Trunchbull), “Death Becomes Her” (Ernest Menville) and others.
The cabaret experience will then finish with Julie Benko and her husband Jason Yeager on May 19. As a release notes, Benko was named the 2022 Breakout Star for Theater by the New York Times, included in Variety’s “10 Broadway Stars to Watch in 2023”, honored as one of “40 Under 40” for Crain’s New York Business, and hailed by CBS Mornings as “Broadway’s breakout star.”
During these evenings at the Rittenhouse Grill, a three-course prix fixe dinner is also included in the VIP and standard tickets before the performance. The menu offers patrons a choice of roast prime rib, 1⁄2 rack of lamb, Iberico pork chops, a fillet of salmon, and an appetizer (spanning clams casino, roasted tomato soup or two salad options). The dining experience is then complete with one of the four house-made desserts (tax and gratuity are included in the price of each ticket).
The venue is nestled on the first floor of the Warwick Rittenhouse Square Hotel (though it’s not affiliated), and some may remember the space as the Prime Rib Philadelphia. However, Rittenhouse Grill has made a name for itself on its own, as an award-winning venue serving celebrities, athletes, and, of course, those with an affinity for delicious food just looking for a great time — especially with this series.
Ticket opportunities include a $225 VIP Experience which spans the three-course dinner, premium show seating, and a post-show meet and greet. Or, there is a $200 standard ticket option that includes the three-course prix fixe dinner and show, or a $75 Backstage Ticket option with beverage service only. Seating for ticketholders begins at 5:30 p.m., those with backstage seating can enter beginning at 7:30 p.m. (the show starts promptly at 8 p.m.) Reservations may be purchased online.
