River Twice to host Seven Deadly Sins dinner experience in 2022

You’ve heard of the Seven Deadly Sins—but never quite like this.

At River Twice, the capital vices will be explored through culinary creativity in the form of a seven-course dinner. And there are going to be four nights of opportunity to indulge.

River Twice is getting in the holiday spirit by hosting four evenings of their popular ‘Seven Deadly Sins’ dinners from Thursday, Oct. 27, through Sunday, Oct. 30, at the restaurant located at 1601 E. Passyunk Ave. in South Philly, a release states.

Culinary duo chef/owner Randy Rucker and owner/operator Amanda Rucker hosted the dinner back in 2020, and the activation came with great success being completely sold out. Now in 2022, there will be both indoor and outdoor seatings (with heaters) available for the meal, coming out to be $85 per person—with an optional and additional drink pairing added for $55.

Reservations are now available for the Seven Deadly Sins dinners, and costumes are also encouraged for those who dine. There’s an incentive to dress up too—a contest will be held during the four-night series, with the winner of the best costume receiving a rare Mother Rucker Burger punch card which guarantees the lucky diner a burger on reserve for up to five visits (that comes out to be a $100 value).

Cardinal sin courses for the dinner include Greed (wagyu and Maine uni, with golden osetra caviar on chawanmushi toast), Wrath (Maine mussels with spicy country ham XO), Sloth (heirloom corn grits with peconic escargot and smoked molasses), Pride (smoked duck gumbo with sassafras, andouille sausage and Carolina gold rice), Gluttony (bacon and eggs with foie gras), Envy (lamb shoulder with pomegranate and chick peas – an ode to Chef Michael Solomonov), and finally, Lust (white chocolate cremeux with white truffle and champagne).

“We had such a blast the first time we did a Seven Deadly Sins dinner,” said Rucker in a statement. “It’s one of our favorite times of year, everyone in the restaurant dressed up, some customers got into the Halloween spirit, and we loved putting together a menu that focuses on the seven deadly sins. We’re excited to do it again this year even bigger with a four-night run.”
