Robbers attack, shoot pizza delivery driver in Southwest Philly

Police are searching for two suspects after a brutal attack on a pizza delivery driver in Southwest Philadelphia late Monday.

Just before 11 p.m., the 35-year-old driver for Chillin Pizza arrived at Beaumont Avenue near 57th Street in the Kingsessing neighborhood to make a delivery. As the unidentified victim was grabbing a customer’s order from the passenger side of his car, two male suspects approached him and forced him at gunpoint back into his vehicle, NBC10 reported.

Police said the twomen told the victim to drive to Warrington Avenue and Cobbs Creek Parkway, where he was then forced out of the car and told to kneel in the street. The suspects robbed him of $60.

Investigators told NBC10 that the victim, 35, tried to run, but the suspects opened fire, hitting the deliveryman in the back of his head.

“He then gets up and runs… near Cobbs Creek he’s yelling for help, yelling for help and finally he collapses,”said Lt. John Walker of Southwest Detectives, according to NBC10.
