Thursday, August 24 is National Waffle Day and if you’re in Philadelphia tomorrow, you can score some free waffles thanks to Waffatopia, a Conshohocken-based company that delivers handmade Belgian Liège-style caramelized waffles to your home.
Founders Brian and Andrea Polizzi will be handing out waffles at the following locations:
Suburban Station (17th and JFK Blvd.) from 6:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.
Rittenhouse Square (18th and Walnut Streets) 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Not in the city? You can head out to the Waffatopia facility (1050 Colwell Lane, Suite 302) in Conshohocken on Friday, August 25 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturday, August 26 between 10 a.m. and noon for free waffles (one per customer).
Along with the giveaways, Waffatopia will give 1 lb. of waffles to Philabundance for every box of waffles purchased on their website between August 24 and August 26 at midnight.
Philabundance is a hunger relief organization that serves 90,000 people each week in the Philadelphia region.
