The suspect in the attempted rape of a woman on a Center City subway platform Monday afternoon, has been arrested by Philadelphia police.
The Philadelphia Police Department’s Special Victims Unit charged Reginald Green, 26, of the 2600 block of Robinson Street in Southwest Philly, with attempted rape, robbery and aggravated assault in the alleged assault at 1 p.m. on Monday at Jefferson Station, formerly known as Market East.
Police say Green “led the victim into the Jefferson Station track area, where he asked for sex, and began physically and sexually assaulting the victim.”
“After a struggle, the male fled on foot in an unknown direction,” police said.
SEPTA police stopped Green on Tuesday, recognizing him from surveillance footage released by the PPD earlier that day.
