The MLS All-Star Game will pit the best MLS has to offer against famed English side Chelsea FC. The last time these two clubs met, in 2006, the MLS stars won, 1-0. Here are seven players to watch:
Galaxy MF David Beckham
This is the third All-Star appearance for one of the world’s best. Even at age 37, Beckham is as talented as any player in MLS. He can still bend it as well as he ever has.
Red Bulls F Thierry Henry
At 34, Henry is still as formidable as any striker. He can score from virtually any angle and his addition into MLS last year was huge.
Galaxy F Landon Donovan
Donovan earned his league-best 12th All-Star berth and has won three MLS Cups with the Galaxy and boasts a ton of experience with the U.S. National Team.
Earthquakes F Chris Wondolowski
He’s the main reason the Earthquakes are a legitimate contender. The 29-year-old can score goals in bunches and he has done just that this season.
Union D Carlos Valdes and MF Michael Farfan
Keep an eye on the Union’s two All-Star selections. Both players are worthy following terrific starts this season.
Chelsea FC F Romelu Lukaku
The 6-foot-3 striker is an imposing force and the All-Stars will keep a close eye on him throughout the game.
