The Eagles aren’t the only ones chasing victory. Last week, PAWS (Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society) announced it was joining the Shelter Showdown, a friendly fundraising competition among animal shelters from the cities vying for the Lombardi Trophy.
Now, PAWS is going tail-to-tail with Great Plains SPCA, representing the Kansas City Chiefs. Each organization is rallying its team’s fanbase to raise funds for local pets in need. And thanks to a generous, Eagles-loving donor, $15,000 in donations to PAWS will be matched. That means every dollar donated by Eagles fans will have double the impact on the road to victory, helping PAWS save more lives.
How You Can Help
Visit sheltershowdown.org to make your donation and help PAWS pull ahead in the Shelter Showdown. As the city’s largest rescue partner and provider of affordable veterinary care, PAWS saves and serves tens of thousands of at-risk pets each year.
“Supporting PAWS in the Shelter Showdown unites two of Philadelphians’ greatest passions,” says Melissa Levy, PAWS’ executive director. “Let’s make our city proud and make the most of this incredible opportunity. With donations in honor of the Eagles going twice as far to save Philly’s pets in need, we can have two reasons to celebrate on Super Bowl Sunday. Go Birds! Go PAWS!”
