Son of Philly Police Officer Among SEALs Killed in Afghanistan

The son of a Philadelphia police officer is among the 30-plus service members killed, most of them Navy SEALs, when the Taliban shot down a helicopter in Afghanistan late Friday.

Navy SEAL Petty Officer Michael Strange, 25, of Mayfair was on his third tour in Afghanistan when he was felled by a rocket-propelled grenade.

Strange, a graduate of North Catholic High School, was a member of SEAL Team Six, the unit that carried out the raid that ultimately killed Osama Bin Laden in May.

His mother serves on the Philadelphia police force.
