Soul beat Predators for first home victory

The Soul beat Orlando, 61-51, over the weekend. Next up, Tampa Bay.

The Philadelphia Soul proved you can go home again.

The team entered Saturday’s contest winless at the Wells Fargo Center and left as victors following a 61-51 win over the Orlando Predators. Orlando is coached by former Soul head coach Doug Plank.

Receiver Tiger Jones was named Russell Athletic Player of the Game after hauling in five balls for 114 yards and three touchdowns. Quarterback Dan Raudabaugh went 21-of-27 for 251 yards and six scores.

“We did a great job tonight,” said coach Clint Dolezel. “There are still some things we need to work on as a team, but I’ll take the win. I’m happy that we were able to hang on for this win, our team really came together and everyone did what they needed to do. I think there a few things we can tighten up on defense. But for right now, I’m happy with my team and happy we were able to pull things through together and finally get this win at home.”

The Soul hit the road next week in a primetime battle Saturday (7:30 p.m., CBS Sports Network) against the Tampa Bay Storm.
