South Philadelphia man charged in subway assault, robbery

A 29-year-old man has been arrested and charged with a strong arm robbery last week on the Broad Street Subway.

Rashaad Donaldson is accused of punching a man in the face and taking his wallet in the Snyder subway station on Jan. 29. Images of the suspect were caught on a subway surveillance camera. Police arrested him on Feb. 2 after receiving tips from the public.

Donaldson faces charges on robbery, theft by unlawful taking, simple assault and related charges. He is in police custody and scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Feb. 21.
