Sometimes you need that extra little bit of motivation to work out at home, especially during social distancing. Philly gyms and fitness studios are bringing their workouts to social media and platforms like Zoom in order to show participants how to stay healthy and connect with other workout enthusiasts. Find workouts to help both your physical and mental health. Here are seven sources for free workouts during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tip: With free classes, look for how to tip the instructor or donate to the studio. Their Venmo account information will often be posted with the class information.

Tuck Barre & Yoga

Choose between a challenging barre class or do some relaxing yoga with Tuck Barre & Yoga, a studio with three locations in the Philly area. They are livestreaming several classes every day through Facebook Live. Other class options include prenatal yoga, kids yoga and cardio workouts. Check out their weekly schedule on their Facebook page.

Hotbox Yoga

This hot yoga studio gets creative to help bring similar workouts to your home. These classes, lasting from 40 minutes to an hour, are designed to increase your heart rate while building strength and clearing your mind. Follow their Instagram to get livestream schedule updates, or check out their YouTube page to dive into a yoga practice on your own schedule.

Never Give Up Training

You might be surprised at how you can get an amazing workout in a small space. This is the challenge for the personal trainers at Never Give Up Training as they design HIIT routines that will test your skills and set goals to work on during the isolation period. Take it to the next level with their accountability challenge, or posting on Facebook or Instagram stories after completing your workout and tagging the studio.

Fit Academy

If you need something to motivate you into working out every day, follow Fit Academy for boot camp-style classes. These sessions will give you new ideas on how to use your space to get a better workout, as well as providing some structure for you to focus on different areas of strength to work on each day. If you like the free workouts, there is also a paid tier with access to more online resources and a Facebook group to connect with other members.

Fuel Cycle Fitness

Mix up your workouts, even when you’re stuck at home. Fuel is hosting a variety of workouts via Zoom including HIIT that incorporates boxing and interval bodyweight classes. Sign up for their email list via their Facebook group to receive notifications about the class schedule or catch up with videos of past classes.

Rebel Yoga

Connect with a new yoga community while keeping up with an existing practice or starting a new yoga routine at home. Rebel Yoga hosts donation-based virtual yoga classes.
