Sassafrass

Halloween is getting an ancient Irish twist at Sassafras. The Old City venue will host its first-ever Samhain in the Street celebration on Saturday, Oct. 31. Inspired by the ancient Gaelic festival that helped shape modern-day Halloween, the festivities pay homage to the heritage of owners Donal McCoy and Neill Laughlin.

From 6 p.m. until close, the evening will feature a mix of Samhain-inspired cocktails, seasonal décor, traditional Irish fare and live music featuring the Irish fiddle and bouzouki. Fire dancers, jugglers, snake charmers and tattoo flash specials from Olde City Tattoo will also be on site. As an extra bonus, the celebration will continue the next day (Nov. 1) with an All Hallow’s Day special food and cocktail menu, available from 2 to 6 p.m.
