On any given week, Paul Hodo is getting ready to play. At age 71, music is no longer something he fits in. It’s the center of his life.
“I’m living my dream,” he said.
Paul has been playing since he was a kid, but after a long career as an executive chef, he has come back to music in a way that feels more meaningful than ever. Now, he performs across his community, connecting with people through songs they know and love.
“You see people light up when you play something they remember,” he said.
After a serious health setback, Paul had to rebuild his strength and his voice. For a time, even singing felt out of reach.
“The first time I could sing again, it was amazing,” he said.
Today, he has support from his doctor and care team at ArchWell Health.
“I don’t feel like a number there,” Paul said. “I feel like a person.”
At his ArchWell Health center, Paul has time to talk with his doctor and is never rushed during visits. With a center close to home and same-day sick appointments, it is easy for him to get care when he needs it.
When he is out playing, he knows he is not on his own. With ArchWell Health’s 24-hour “Call Us First” phone line, he can speak with a provider who knows his health history and can help him decide what to do next.
Having access to care at any time helps adults age 60 and older address concerns early and avoid unnecessary trips to the emergency room. That support gives Paul and countless other ArchWell Health members the confidence to keep doing what they love.
Because for Paul, this chapter isn’t about slowing down. It’s about what comes next.
