Ahead of the Sixers' weekend back-to-back, Jaylen Brown has been added to the team's injury report. He is now questionable for Friday's matchup against the New York Knicks with left knee soreness.
Brown's 20 points and 10 rebounds were integral to the Sixers' 114-109 comeback win over the Pacers on Wednesday, and his potential absence would take away one of the team's most effective slashers.
In addition to Brown, the Sixers will be without Tacko Fall (left quad strain), Jabari Walker (left patellar tendinopathy) and Dominick Barlow (low back stress reaction), all of whom have been ruled out.
Notably, neither Joel Embiid nor LeBron James was listed on the initial injury report. How the Sixers manage their availability during back-to-backs has been a frequent topic of conversation.
The plan has consistently been for Embiid to miss at least one game of back-to-backs. James is expected to follow a similar plan to manage his workload and sat out last Saturday against the Milwaukee Bucks.
With both players absent from the initial injury report, all signs currently point to them playing at home Friday against New York. If so, the most likely scenario is both sitting against Charlotte. Whether Brown's ailing knee played a role in that decision remains to be seen, but Nick Nurse should provide clarity ahead of Friday's matchup.
The Sixers will host the Knicks on Friday at 7:30 p.m. before traveling to Charlotte for a 6 p.m. tipoff Saturday.
