Teen injured in shooting at Cecil B. Moore SEPTA stop

A 14-year-old boy was shot Saturday night at SEPTA’s Cecil B. Moore station, which serves Temple University’s main campus in North Philadelphia, police said.

The shooting happened at around 8:30 p.m. on the southbound platform of the Broad Street Line stop, according to investigators. Officers took the teenager to Temple University Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, authorities said.

PPD officials told reporters at the scene that three people were taken into custody in the aftermath of the incident. A police department spokesperson said no update was available Sunday.

Through Oct. 30, 99 people under the age of 18 had been killed or wounded in shootings this year, a decrease of about 15% compared to the same date in 2024, according to the Philadelphia Center for Gun Violence Reporting’s data dashboard.
