Weekend shootings leave 5 wounded across Philadelphia

A 39-year-old man was in critical condition after being shot in West Philly.

At least five people were injured in gun violence that occurred over the weekend across Philadelphia.

Police said an adult woman who had been shot showed up at Temple University Hospital in a private vehicle at around 9:30 a.m. Sunday. Law enforcement officials said the location of the incident is unknown, and the PPD has not provided any information about her condition. 

Earlier, just before 7 a.m., an adult male shooting victim walked into St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, after someone opened fire on the 4300 block of N. American Street in Feltonville, authorities said. He was transported to Temple and is expected to survive.

Investigators said a 39-year-old man was in critical condition after he was shot in his right knee and buttocks at around 3:20 a.m. Sunday on the 6000 block of Race Street in West Philadelphia.

Detectives discovered three spent shell casings from a 9mm weapon, and they described the suspect as a thin man in all black clothing.

On Saturday, just before 6:15 a.m., a 61-year-old man arrived at Temple University Hospital with a gunshot wound, the PPD said. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.

While authorities initially were not sure where the shooting happened, a police spokesperson told Metro on Sunday that the shots were fired on the 1300 block of W. Tioga Street, near the hospital.

In Frankford, someone shot an 18-year-old woman at around 10:15 p.m. Friday on the 4600 block of Ditman Street, according to law enforcement. She was hospitalized in stable condition.

The PPD did not report any arrests in connection with the weekend violence. Anyone with information is asked to call or text the police tip line at 215-686-TIPS (8477).

Through March 7, 71 people had been shot in Philadelphia this year, down from 149 on the same date in 2025, according to police department data.
