[UPDATE] Ex-cop stabbed in Port Richmond

Police are investigating the stabbing of a retired police officer in Port Richmond early Monday morning.Credit: Adam Gerard/FlickrUPDATE, 9:18 a.m.:Police have released a description of the suspect in the stabbing on 3000 Salmon Street early this morning.The suspect is described by police as a white male, about 30 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall and 200 pounds. The man was wearing all dark clothing when he stabbed the 56-year-old victim, who reportedly is a retired police officer.Nothing was taken from the victim, who is in stable condition at Temple University Hospital, during the attack outside the 56-year-old man's Port Richmond home.A police spokeswoman declined to confirm the victim's status as a retired police officer.- - - - - - - - - -A retired Philadelphia police officer was stabbed outside his Port Richmond home early this morning.The attack happened on the 3000 block of Salmon Street about 2 a.m., 6ABC Action News reports.The victim was stabbed once in his chest. He was taken to Temple University Hospital, where he is in stable condition.The victim is in his 50s.
