Support the PSPCA and Main Line Animal Rescue with The Good Dog Jog

There have been plenty of events canceled and plans postponed due to social distancing, and although there are some occasions that can be rescheduled, what is really taking a hard hit and can’t necessarily be pushed back are the planned fundraising events for many institutions.

The Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and Main Line Animal Rescue have already had to cancel two springtime fundraising events that have a significant impact on their financial abilities as organizations. But instead of counting their losses, like most companies nowadays, the PSPCA and Main Line have decided to adapt and come up with a creative solution to help continue their efforts.

Philadelphians can help the organizations by signing up for The Good Dog Jog, a virtual 5K Run/2K Walk. The run and walk can be done anywhere—outside while safely social distancing, on your daily walk with your own furry friend, on a treadmill, or even (and the press release agrees) while sitting on your couch and just signing up—anything to help raise vital funds needed by both the PSPCA and Main Line Animal Rescue will be beneficial. Those interested in participating can do so anytime between now and April 18.

A few notable Philadelphians have already signed up to take on the challenge, including Scott Kingery of the Phillies and Cam Johnston of the Eagles. In fact, Kingrey has raised over $1,000 on his fundraising page already.

No matter what you to do participate, you are directly helping raise money for the Emergency Relief Fund, which, according to the release, directly allows the organizations to continue to enrich the lives of both the animals in their care and the families in their communities who rely on them. Philadelphians can sign up online and also purchase a T-shirt to help show their support.
