SWAT responds to barricaded man armed with swords, bow and arrow, machete

SWAT responded last night to a man barricaded inside his house in Wissinoming.

The man, 21, locked himself inside alone around 7:30 p.m. on the 6100 block of Vandike Street. He was armed with three swords, a bow and arrow and a machete.

He was removed from the property with no injuries after a short standoff and committed for mental health issues, a police spokeswoman said this afternoon.
