The James Beard Foundation will bring their acclaimed event, Taste America, back to the city this spring—and tickets are currently on sale for the March 25 event.
The walk-around tasting experience will take place at 7 p.m. at The Grand Belle at The Bellevue (200 S Broad St.) in partnership with Cescaphe, and will feature local James Beard Foundation-curated talent— including its host, chef Randy Rucker from Little Water and River Twice.
“We are delighted to bring Taste America to Philadelphia, a city known for its rich food culture and vibrant independent restaurant community,” said Siobhan Flaherty Haber, Vice President of Events at the James Beard Foundation in a statement. “It is sure to be an unforgettable culinary experience, and we’re thrilled to highlight our Good Food for Good mission as well as the exceptional talents, inspiring stories, and community commitment of our TasteTwenty host chef Randy Rucker and the local guest chefs.”
The tasting will feature food and beverage stations as well as sponsor and partner activations (including Mijente Tequila), with additional stations to be announced.
Participating chefs include: Phila Lorn and Rachel Barag (Mawn), Ian Graye (Pietramala), Alex Yoon (Little Fish), Diana Widjojo (Rice & Sambal), Juan Carlos Aparicio-Torres (El Chingon), Christopher D’Ambro (Ambra), Abigail Dahan (Provenance), Michael Vincent Ferreri (Irwin’s), Cristina Martinez (South Philly Barbacoa) and James Beard Award Winner Amanda Rafalski (Friday Saturday Sunday.)
Philly is just one of 20 stops on this culinary-clad tour.
According to a release, menus at all events promise “a delectable evening benefiting the Foundation’s industry-focused mission and programs.” Over the course of the series, Taste America will highlight over 100 leading chefs and offer participants a window into the tastes and traditions shaping American food today. Proceeds from Taste America events benefit the James Beard Foundation’s national impact programming in support of equity, sustainability, women’s leadership, and more.
Tickets for the event ($200-$250) are available online. Participants can also check back soon to find full menus and offerings at jamesbeard.org
