The Sixers’ longest tenured played looks to be headed up north to Minnesota to help accommodate LeBron James’ desire to have Kevin Love alongside him as a member of the Cavaliers.

But the return for Philadelphia appears to be pretty good. According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst and Mark Stein, the Sixers are sending forward Thaddeus Young to the T-Wolves, who will send Love to Cleveland, who will send former No. 1 overall pick Anthony Bennett to Philly.

Windhorst, who says the deal could already be done in principle, said draft picks will likely be involved too.

Bennett, 21, played in 52 games with the Cavs last season, but averaged just under 13 minutes and only 4.2 points per game.

The UNLV product could be better served as a member of the 76ers, where he will be able to get a lionshare of minutes in the youngest roster in basketball.

Young will be departing Philadelphia after a pretty successful seven-year run with the team. He emerged as a veteran leader last season when many of his Sixers’ teammates were traded away.

The Cavs were contemplating trading Andrew Wiggins for Love, but seemed to decide against it. They also must wait at least 30 days if they do intend to, as Wiggins inked a contract last month.

Young has played his entire seven-year career in Philadelphia. He has a career average of 13.7 points per game, but set a career high with 17.9 last season.

Perhaps surprisingly to Sixers fans, Young has played in 30 postseason games in Philly.
