The Bourse to host Sippin & Stichin Pop Up

All beginner DIY-ers and stitchers are in luck this weekend. The Bourse Food Hall will be hosting an Embroidery Workshop on Sunday, July 31, from 1 to 3 p.m., led by Lea Saccomanno, the creative principal behind the local pop-up, Sippin & Stichin.

As a release states, the workshop will focus on techniques designed to embellish, up-cycle and bring new life to well-loved garments and accessories, and is open to all amateur stitchers as well as veteran embroiderers who would like to sharpen their sewing skills. Philadelphians who have an old piece of clothing can bring it in to revamp it, or, work on sample fabric that you receive with your stitching kit.

A ticket to the workshop will also get participants access to a huge array of embroidery thread, tools to transfer designs, as well as all supplies needed to complete the project. In total, the experience will offer two hours of hands-on guidance, and a beverage from Scoop DeVille, which offers spiked shakes, spiked frozen lemonade, beer and seltzers, as well as non-alcoholic options.
