A Philadelphia woman who was apprehended while shoplifting escaped and abandonedher 4-year-old daughter, police said Monday.
An arrest warrant has been issued forMahogany Ashly Terry, 27, of the 2400 block of North 29th Street, police said.
The daughter is now in the custodhy of Terry’s relatives, police said.
Terry allegedly had her 4-year-old daughter in tow when she was caught by Macy’s security at the 13th and Market store after having stolen $1,400 worth of merchandise around 6:10 p.m. on Feb. 11.

Police say security detained Terry and left her and her daughter in a room with Terry cuffed to a bench by one hand.
Terry “managed to free herself from the handcuff, and escaped out the room, leaving her daughter behind,” a police report stated.
The child was transported to the Department of Human Services and later reunited with relatives, police said.
Courts records show Mahogany was previously arrested for retail theft twice in recent months, in October and December of 2015. Those cases are still pending in court.
