Snap Kitchen is all about grab-and-go food for the health conscious set and The Franklin Fountain dishes out artisan ice cream made with fresh, local ingredients. This summer, these two Philly favorites have collaborated on a special edition ice cream flavor that is both delicious and won’t put too much of a dent in your calorie intake for the day.
The Mocha Caramel Snap Brownie Ice Cream was crafted by Snap Kitchen’s Lead Registered Dietitian, Claire Siegel, and is both dairy-free (made with a custom dairy-free base) and gluten-free (chock full of Snap Kitchen’s gluten-free brownies).
How could an ice cream without dairy or gluten be any good? I decided to give it a try yesterday and was impressed. It’s the perfect weekday treat because it satisfies your sweet tooth without putting you into a sugar coma. Consistency wise it’s somewhere between ice cream and water ice. Very tasty.
The best part? One container is only 300 calories for a 4 oz. portion.
They’re available for purchase in-store at Snap Kitchen’s Midtown Village location (1109 Walnut St.) and The Franklin Fountain (116 Market St.) while supplies last.
