Jose Garces’ opened the Spanish tapas-style hotspot Tinto in 2007; now the Center City hotspot is getting an update on their menu for the first time since they opened their doors – and it looks delicious. 18 new dishes are up for grabs at Tinto, and Garces believes that the tasty new additions need a celebration. For six days, Tinto will offer Philadelphians free tapas in honor of their newly unveiled menu.
Tinto has delicious new menu items and is offering free tapas to celebrate
The re-vamped menu was inspired by Jose Garces’ trip to Spain and the collaboration with his culinary team in the test kitchen. Garces wanted to re-explore the Basque-style cuisine dishes Tinto already offered and revamp it to be fresh and inventive.
“My culinary team and I were inspired by our travels to Spain and took it a step further to refresh the menu by combining flavors and adding twists to traditional dishes through elevated ingredients and creative techniques,” chef Jose Garces said in a release. “Some of our signature items and guests’ favorites such as Duck Montaditos and Lamb Brochettes, will remain on the menu, but we hope guests have fun exploring what’s new as well.”
New menu items include Habas (marinated fava beans), Mejillones en Escabeche (preserved Spanish mussels), Brochetas de Atún (bluefin tuna brochettes), Bocadillo de Atún (tuna sandwich), and Bocadillo de Calamari (fried calamari sandwich). Large plates include: Ensalada de Manzanas (apple salad), Canelones de Pato (duck cannelloni), Gambas en Chocolate (shrimp in chocolate sauce), and Txuleta de Cerdo (roasted pork chop) and more mouthwatering options.
To celebrate the delicious new offerings at Tinto, Chef Garces and his team are serving up complimentary pintxos (tapas) when dining at Tinto from Feb. 8 through Feb. 13. Pintxos include the chef’s selection of the new dishes “for the table” to experience. Reservations can be made by calling 215-665-9150 or online at philadelphia.tintorestaurant.com.
