Police have identified the man shot and killed on South Street early Saturday morning during an apparent robbery attempt.
Investigators said Tom Watson, 36, was unloading gear into his apartment through the Haagen-Dazs ice cream shop at 242 South Street shortly before 3:30 a.m. when he was shot multiple times.
He died at the scene.
Watson was a seasoned sound engineer whospun records at local bars and clubs under the pseudonym DJ Fenicx.
The popular resident wasalsocaptain of the Olde English Dart League of Philadelphia’s Ugly American Transplants team, according to online records.
No arrests have yet been made in connection with the crime.
Police are looking for two suspects, described only as two unknown black males last seen wearing dark-colored hoodies.
As with any homicide in Philadelphia, there is a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
