PENNSYLVANIA – On the last day of a five-day trip to the Middle East, U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey said he met with leaders in Afghanistan and Pakistan as well as American military leaders while traveling with five other members of Congress.
Toomey left last Thursday and will return to the United States today. He yesterday said “the big challenge now … is making sure there is an actively trained Afghan army, police force and other governmental institutions to be able to sustain the progress we have made.”
