Tria Cafe Fitler Square hosts Farewell Party next week

On Monday, August 28, the Fitler Square neighborhood will say goodbye to Tria Cafe Fitler Square, located on the cozy corner of 23rd and Pine.

To bid farewell in style, the restaurant will host a Farewell Party with going-away prices on sparkling wine, select cheeses and craft beer.

20% of proceeds from the event will go to the NAACP and the Anti-Defamation League (ADL).

“We look forward to sharing one last night with our friends and neighbors in Fitler Square, and we hope they will join us in making this occasion about something greater than ourselves,” says Tria owner Jon Myerow.

“This event is not about red vs. blue. It’s about my young children not enduring the Nazism that my father fought against in WWII. For our diverse and inclusive staff, it’s about love vs. hate. There is no political ownership of kindness. It’s just the right thing to do.”

Tria hopes to raise $2,000 for the NAACP and the ADL. In addition, representatives will be on site to talk about their work and accept additional donations.

“Even if we achieve our goal, $2,000 is a drop in the bucket,” says Myerow. “But as with good wine, every drop counts. We look forward to hosting our final night at Fitler Square for a good cause – with plenty of wine, cheese and beer, of course.”

Tria announced the closing of its Fitler Square location back in June of this year but has only just now released the official closing date and farewell party. According to an official statement posted on Philly Mag back in June, Tria is letting go of Fitler Square to focus on “its most ambitious project to date” – Tria Wine Garden.
