A high roller took the all-too-often down on its luck Tropicana Casino and Resort in Atlantic City for a ride to busto-town last month when he won $5.8 million in blackjack, according to a report out today in the Press of Atlantic City.
That winning amount for an unnamed luckbox set a casino record, the report said, and led the casino’s outgoing CEO Mark Giannantonio to remark that “We ran very unlucky.”
It also helped make the Trop the worst performing of the gambling destination’s casinos, which for the 32nd straight month saw lower revenue. But the slump was notable in April because the entire industry’s revenue fell 7 percent.
