Two men from Philadelphia are facing charges after they were caught transporting more than 900 pounds of marijuana Monday.
Maryland State Police troopers pulled over a U-Haul vanfor a traffic violation on the Interstate 95 exit ramp to Route 279 around 8 p.m., the Associated Pressreported. A drug detection dog alerted officers to the presence of drugs, and a search turned up 938 pounds of marijuana in the van’s cargo deck. Driver and passengerBaojieChen and Da Fen Xiong, both 23 and from Philadelphia,have been charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of more than 50 pounds of marijuana and possession with intent to distribute.
