Two women who died in a fiery crash in Northeast Philly Sunday have been identified.
Anomie Nicole Barton, 25, was driving the black 2015 Chevy Camaro at high rates of speed when the crash occurred.
In the front passenger seat was Giovanna Scavo, 22, police said. A third woman in the backseat has not yet been identified.
Their vehicle crashed into a tractor-trailer on the 8100 block of Torresdale Avenue near Pennypack Creekaround 2:45 a.m., killing all three.
The car was a rental from Enterprise, Capt. John Wilczynski of the Accident Investigation Division said. The speed limit on that block of Torresdale Avenue is 35 miles per hour, he said.
“Clearly speed is the main indicator here that caused the fatality, without a doubt, it was speed,” Wilczynski said.

Police declined to comment on rumors that the occupants of the vehicle may have been using the Snapchat app shortly before the crash.
The Fire Department sent a HAZMAT team to respond to the scene, because pesticides inside the tractor trailer after both vehicles involved in the crash became engulfed in flame.
A third nearby tractor trailer caught flame after the crash as well.
Both truck were legally parked and unoccupied at the time of the crash.
