UPDATE: Sixers deny CEO Adam Aron fired

Turns out those early reports of Adam Aron’s demise were premature. A Sixers spokesman denied the CEO had been fired from his post late Monday night.

“They have been together for a long time and they will continue to work together with the 76ers,” he said. “Adam Aron will continue to work for the 76ers. He has not been fired. All reports saying he was were wrong.”

Earlier Monday, Fox 29’s Howard Eskin reported that Aron had been fired, via Twitter. Many news outlets verified the report citing sources. Apparently, it wasn’t true.

Aron, a marketing guru best known for interacting with fans on Twitter, does have partial ownership in the Sixers. It’s unclear whether he still has his stake. Last month, it was reported that the franchise had stripped Aron of some of his duties. That report was also denied by the Sixers.
