Authorities identified Jason Anderson, 31, a newlywed with a 1-year-old son as one of the three three fatalities in Sunday morning’s weather-related car pileups. All the crashes were caused by slick, icy conditions.

Anderson, his wife, and their son were driving home to Delaware when they were involved in a pileup on I-476 around 7 a.m. Sunday, the Inquirer reported. Anderson died and his wife was injured. Their son was unhurt in the collision.

Victim Thomas Brennan was also killed in the same crash. His age was not available.

Eric Blau, 31, of Philadelphia, was killed in a crash on the Schuylkill Expressway after getting out of his vehicle, also around 7 a.m. around 7 a.m.

A PennDOT spokesman said the crashes were caused by “flash-freezing.”
