Police are looking for a man who was caught on camera Friday night stealing donations from a benefit for two Philadelphia firefighters killed last week in a Kensington warehouse fire.
The incident happened at a benefit for the families of Lt. Robert Neary and firefighter Daniel Sweeney at Smokeaters Pub on the 7600 block of Frankford Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia. A man in the bar’s basement cut open raffle baskets, stuffed items in his pockets and immediately left the area around 10:40 p.m.
He is described as a 5-foot-10-inch to 6-foot white male between 280 and 300 pounds with short dark hair.
Anyone with information is asked to call 215-686-TIPS (8477), submit an anonymous tip online, email tips@phillypolice.com or to contact the Northeast Detectives at 215-686-3153.
