A suspect, still at large, blocked an elevator exit in order to stage a robbery in a West Powelton residential building.
Philadelphia police are searching for a man who blocked an elevator exit then robbed a passenger of more than $800 dollars, ABC reported, adding that the robbery happened on Nov. 20, but surveillance video has now been released that shows the incident unfold. After the elevator stopped, the alleged mugger stood in front of the victim, preventing his exit,Philly Voicereported, adding that the two men then got into a struggle on the building’s eighth floor RELATED: South Philly police impostors commit robbery: Investigators The suspect was able to take $836 from the victim before fleeing the scene by running down the building’s fire escape, Philly Voice added, also reporting that the victim didn’t suffer any injuries. Authorities described the suspect as a black male, standing about 5-foot-5 and weighing about 180 pounds, Philly Voice stated, adding that he has a stocky build, light beard and was wearing a black jacket and camouflage pants during the incident.
