Video: Wawa robber didn’t really want the candy

Police are looking for a robbery suspect who whipped out a handgun after pretending he wanted to buy candy at a Wawain the Northeast.

Crystal clear surveillance video released by the Philadelphia Police Department shows the suspect putting a piece of candy on the counter as it to pay for it. When the clerk opens the register, the suspect pulled a gun and demanded cash.

The incident happened at about 2:30 a.m. onAug. 23 on the 800 block of Cottman Ave.

The suspect fled the scene after the cashier emptied the register into a plastic bag. The candy was left behind.
