Mourners will gather in South Jersey to hold a vigil Wednesday night for an infant who was set on fire by her mother Friday and burned to death.

Hyphernkemberly Dorvilier, 22, is charged with murder for setting her newborn baby girl on fire by Simontown Road in Pember Township around 11 p.m Friday, Burlington County prosecutors said. Dorvilier was a resident of the town.

Dorvilier allegedly doused the baby, who hadn’t been named, with accelerant and then set her on fire, prosecutors said.

The baby was airlifted to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children at 11:15 p.m. and was still alive and breathing at that time, prosecutors say. The baby died two hours later.

The vigil will be held at Brown Mills United Methodist Church, at 2 Pemberton Browns Mills Road, Pemberton Township at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to a Facebook page for the event.

The baby’s name and age were not available. Mourners are calling it “Angel Baby” and asking for donations for the funeral to be sent to Brown Mills United Methodist Church at the above address.

A memorial was erected for the baby on the roadside near where she died.

Donviliers told a neighbor who asked her about the fire that she was burning dog waste, then poured water on the baby, the Daily News reported. The neighbor then heard the baby’s screams and called 911.

Police are investigating and are planning to perform an autopsy, according to prosecutors.

No motive for the murder had been reported. Dorvilier remains in custody.
