Violent home-invasion robbery reported in NE Philly

Two people were injured when a pair of men forced their way into a Northeast Philadelphia home early Saturday at gunpoint. Police said the men “beat and tied up” a 31-year-old woman and when a 50-year-old man who lived there came home to the Summerdale Avenue residence during the 3 a.m. robbery, he was tied up and beaten, but was also “burned and had bleach poured on him.”

The female victim was taken to Einstein Hospital and the male to Temple University Hospital, both in stable condition. Police didn’t know what was taken in the robbery yesterday. No suspect descriptions were available.
