Water floods Rising Sun Avenue

A stretch of Rising Sun Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia is closed to vehicular traffic Wednesday morning due to a water main break that flooded the road.

Traffic in both directions was being diverted in the area of the 6700 block of Rising Sun Avenue, near Martins Mill Road, as of 6:40 a.m., NBC10 reported.

Philadelphia Police and Water Department crews were on the scene, where water reportedly began coming out of a manhole around 5:20 a.m.
