A man working under a West Philadelphia street was struck and killed Thursday night by a minivan that crashed through construction barricades.
The 27-year-old man was doing plumbing work in a 4-foot deep hole at 63rd and Arch streets around 9 p.m. when he was hit by a woman’s falling minivan when the driver barreled through orange safety cones and caution tape, according to NBC Philadelphia, which added that the man was taken to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead, police said. Authorities said it’s too early to know whether charges will be filed.
