Why not sip on some vino while admiring the views of the city? At Assembly Rooftop Lounge, located on top of the Logan Hotel, Philadelphians can tickle their wine fancy by checking out the venue’s extensive wine selection (available by the glass or bottle) which includes sparkling prosecco and rosés, and a variety of reds and whites as well. The hotspot also has a few cocktail options for wine lovers: the Frosé ($14) is made with rosé, Cocchia Rosa, dry vermouth, strawberry, and lemon, and the Sunshine ($15) is composed of Tito’s vodka, mango, lemongrass ginger tea, lemon, and sparkling rosé.

After hitting up Assembly up top, Philadelphians can then make their way to the bottom floor of The Logan for dinner and more wine to keep National Wine Day going. The modern American steakhouse features an extensive wine list full of local, Pennsylvania-focused choices. Eighty percent of wines at Urban Farmer by the glass are now from Pennsylvania in an effort to support small businesses and educate guests on local wines. Highlights of the new menu span from a Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc and Carmine Rosé from Wayvine Estate in Nottingham, Pennsylvania and Merlot from Penns Woods in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania.

Jet Wine Bar 

It’s no secret why this South Street venue is a prime choice for National Wine Day. According to a release, Philadelphia’s “global vineyard,” is a staple in the oenophilia community for their vast selection of world-wide wines sold by the bottle at their bottle shop, or by the glass at Jet Wine Garden, Jet Wine Bar’s adjacent outdoor oasis, available for sipping in celebration of National Wine Day from 4 to 9 p.m. Some of Jet Wine Bar’s impressive collection of specialty wines include the hard-to-find Leb Nat Gold and Leb Nat Ruby from Couvent Rouge in Lebanon — available in limited supply, sold by the bottle at the bottle shop and wine garden. In addition, Jet Wine Bar offers gift packages such as Orange is the New Wine and Rosé All Day, each including three bottles of carefully curated wines, available for purchase online. Wine connoisseurs and amateur sommeliers can sign up for Jet Wine Bar’s new Wine Club, featuring priority access to in-person and virtual tastings, access to exclusive blog, and notifications on rare finds, discounts, and specials.

Barcelona Wine Bar

The tapas hotspot is also a prime location for sipping on some vino with their award-winning wine selection boasting one of the largest Spanish wine programs in the United States with restaurants all over the country. Variations at the East Passyunk spot include sparkling rosés, crisp whites, and bold reds. Diners can enjoy the vino-filled holiday by sipping on their selection at Barcelona’s indoor space, or outdoor garden set-up during dinner service on National Wine Day, Tuesday, May 25.

New Liberty Distillery 

The new distillery located in the South Kensington neighborhood of the city has one special offer that’s unique for wine aficionados—their revived heritage Kinsey brand. New Liberty has a small-batch of this wine-infused whiskey for imbibers to sip on this Tuesday with The Kinsey Zinfandel Cask, which is a 53-gallon wine barrel from Calistoga, California that previously held Zinfandel was filled with Kinsey American Whiskey. This specialty brew boasts notes of jam, stone fruit, black pepper, and tobacco into classic Kinsey whiskey.  This limited edition craft spirit can be purchased online, or on-site at New Liberty Distillery during opening hours of noon to 5 p.m.

Red Owl Tavern 

The Old City destination is known for their cocktails, but now wine lovers will have an extra spirited reason to not just visit the bar and eatery on National Wine Day, but on every Monday and Tuesday going forward. Red Owl Tavern is offering their Monday and Tuesday 1/2 off Wine Bottles promotion from noon to 7 p.m. at the beginning of the week. Guests are welcome to choose from a vast array of wines for 50% off to enjoy onsite outdoors, or to-go with 50% off more than 30 bottles ranging from $20-$350. Choices range from varieties of white, red and sparkling wines.
