A young woman was reportedly slashed in the face by a stranger while on the Schuylkill River Trail in Center City Thursday afternoon.
The 24-year-oldvictim told police she was walking the trail with a friend just before 3 p.m. when the pair noticed they were being followed by a man they didn’t recognize, Philly.com reported.
The two reportedly told police they went up the stairs from the trail onto the Walnut Street Bridge, where the man approached, told her “you don’t know anything,” and then slashed her forehead with a sharp object.
She was later treated for a 3-inch cut at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.
The suspect was reportedly described as a black man about 20 to 25 years old, 6 feet in height with an athletic build, and a goatee or beard.
