Woman killed in Strawberry Mansion shooting

A 37-year-old woman was gunned down early Tuesday morning in North Philadelphia.

Police said the victim died shortly after being shot multiple times at around 4:15 a.m. outside on the 3400 block of W. Huntingdon Street in Strawberry Mansion. No arrests were made in the immediate aftermath of the shooting.

Later in the day, just before 2 p.m., a 31-year-old man was shot several times on the 1300 block of W. Chew Avenue near Fern Rock Transportation Center, according to police.

Officers rushed him to the hospital, and he was in stable condition.

A 35-year-old woman was grazed by a bullet just before 7:15 p.m. Monday near the corner of Roosevelt Boulevard and 5th Street in the Feltonville neighborhood, authorities said.

She was taken to Einstein Medical Center with a wound to her head and placed in stable condition. Roosevelt Boulevard’s southbound outer lanes were closed between 4th and 5th streets following the shooting.

Investigators said a 30-year-old man was stabbed in his pectoral muscle just after 9:15 p.m. Monday during an attempted robbery on the 4800 block of N. 12th Street in Logan. His injuries were not expected to be life-threatening.

About 30 minutes earlier, a 31-year-old man was stabbed six times in the back and once in the neck at Hunting Park in North Philadelphia. Medics took him to Einstein Medical Center, where he was expected to survive.

 

Man sought after exposing himself

SEPTA Transit Police released surveillance images Tuesday of a man who allegedly exposed himself in front of a woman and performed a lewd act earlier this month.

The incident occurred just after 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 8, at the Broad Street Line’s North Philadelphia Station, which is near Lehigh Avenue. He then boarded a southbound subway train, authorities said.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call SEPTA police at 215-580-8111.
