Police released surveillance images Monday of a man they say robbed and pistol-whipped a 35-year-old woman earlier this month inside a Center City hotel.
The incident occurred at around 5:40 p.m. Sunday, April 4, at the DoubleTree Hotel at Broad and Locusts streets, according to authorities.
Investigators said the suspect, described as a man between 25 and 30 years old, pulled out a gun and forced the woman into her hotel home. He struck her with the handgun and ordered her to open the room’s safe, police said.
He took several thousand dollars in cash and fled the area, according to detectives. Hotel security chased the suspect, but lost track of him nearby on the 200 block of S. Juniper Street.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Central Detectives at 215-686-3093/3094; text 215-686-8477; or submit an anonymous tip at www.phillypolice.com/forms/submit-a-tip.
