A woman was found unharmed after she fell asleep inside a car that was stolen early Monday in Kensington, police said.

Officers responded just after 1:45 a.m. to the 800 block of E. Allegheny Avenue for a report that someone stole a Buick with a 34-year-old woman sleeping inside, said authorities, who treated the case as an abduction.

Later in the day, the PPD said the woman was found uninjured; however, police have still not recovered the vehicle or made any arrests.

Authorities have not said when and where the woman was found or who reported the abduction.

The car is a 2012 silver Buick Verano with a Delaware license plate with the tag number 323204, according to investigators. Authorities described the suspect as a man with a thin build and light complexion who was wearing a mask, black puffy jacket and black pants at the time of incident.

Police released surveillance images showing the man and the car. Anyone with information is asked to contact PPD’s Special Victims Unit at 215-685-3251 or call or text 215-686-8477.
