A residential fire in North Philadelphia left one dead and eight hospitalized early Wednesday morning.
Philadelphia Fire Department and police responded to the call around 2 a.m. to the 1900 block of Dennie Street, where they found a house engulfed in flames. PFD managed to extinguish the fire.
Police said a 62-year-old male victim was pronounced on the scene just before 3 a.m.
A 33-year-old male and a 38-year-old female were both transported to Temple University Hospital, where they remain in critical condition.
Six other victims were also transported to hospitals. Their conditions are currently unknown.
