Separate daytime shootings left three men dead Wednesday across Philadelphia.

Just after 1:15 p.m., a 25-year-old man was shot in his back on the 1400 block of N. 54th Street in West Philadelphia, authorities said. Officers took him to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, but he died a short time later.

A driver crashed after he was apparently shot at around 12:45 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Roosevelt Boulevard and Old York Road in Hunting Park, according to investigators.

Police said the victim, described as a man in his 30s, had collided into the median and struck another car while heading north on the Boulevard. Authorities said first responders found him with a gunshot wound to his chest.

The man was taken to Einstein Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries, the PPD said.

Earlier, at around 8:10 a.m., someone shot a 32-year-old man three times in the chest on the 1100 block of W. Girard Avenue in North Philadelphia, police said. He was pronounced dead a short time later at Temple University Hospital.

Authorities have not publicly identified any of the victims. The PPD did not report any arrests in the immediate aftermath of the shootings.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the department’s Homicide Unit at 215-686-3334 or call or text 215-686-TIPS (8477). The city offers a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in a homicide case.

Since the start of the year, Philadelphia has recorded 161 homicides, down 37% from same date in 2023, according to police data.
