4 of Philly’s merriest holiday cocktails

Whether you’ve been naughty or nice this year, people will soon forget with alcohol as a buffer. Is there anything more magical than festive cocktails? No matter how you feel about your in-laws, neighbors, coworkers or estranged family members — everything gets a little more warm and fuzzy by round two, no matter who you’re with. Here are fourcocktails that will have you jingling all the way to 2017.

American Pie
Continental

The only thing this drink needs is a more festive name, but it certainly tastes like the season with its mix of apple cider, vanilla vodka and cinnamon spiced simple syrup. Topped off with club soda and a cinnamon stick, it’s like a bubbly slice of apple pie.

The Metropolitan
Barclay Prime
237 S. 18th St.

For a refreshing seasonal cocktail, The Metropolitan hits all the right notes. With the lemony Ketel One Citroen paired with white cranberry, Solerno (blood orange liqueur) and a lemon rosemary sour, citrus fans will be in heaven. A rosemary sprig is added as a garnish for some classy holiday flare.

The Naughty Elf
ARTBAR at Sonesta Rittenhouse Square
1800 Market St.

The name alone makes you want to order this drink — but it’s definitely made for those with sweet tooths. Rumple Minze peppermint schnapps, Frangelico (hazelnut liqueur), Godiva white chocolate liqueur, cream and grenadine comes together in one epic holiday cocktail. It’s rich and definitely naughty — so skip cookies that day if you’re going for this doozy of a drink.

Pomegranate Martini
Del Frisco’s
1426 Chestnut St.

Be sure to keep your diet balanced over the holidays by getting your daily fruit serving. While wine is the usual go-to for many, perhaps you can switch it up with the Pomegranate Martini at Del Frisco’s. Made with 360 Vodka, PAMA Pomegranate liqueur and a little cranberry juice (more fruit!), you’ll feel a little less guilty when Jan. 1 comes around.
