Body found floating in Delaware River

Police are investigating a decomposed body found floating in the Delaware River near South Philadelphia Saturday night.

A boater on the river made the discovery around 7 p.m., and called 9-1-1, NBC10 reported. The Police Marine Unit responded to the call and pulled the badly decomposedbody from the water.

Authorities said the body appeared to be male, but an official determination of race and sex of the body couldn’t be determined at the time. The body was transported to the medical examiner’s office, CBS3 reported.
